Steel Floor / Tread Plate is a flat sheet material with a slightly elevated, Diamond pattern. The standard Checker, or diamond-shaped tread pattern is universally recognized and used by most Australian industries. Apart from commercial applications, Steel Floor Plating is commonly found on trailer or utility vehicle floors. The diamond pattern is applied to one side of the sheet, leaving the opposite side flat or featureless.
Steel Floor Plate can be used in commercial food areas and cool rooms to prevent slip hazards. Appropriate examples would be inside catering trucks, food services or milk delivery trucks. It ultimately keeps crates or cartons from sliding, falling or being damaged.
Steel tread plate is outstandingly durable, particularly considering its lightweight properties. It is also corrosion-resistant. The patterned side does all the work, providing the required protection or decoration.
Steel Floor Plate is considerably versatile. It can be applied practically anywhere that has the potential to cause slip hazards. It is most commonly placed in high foot traffic workplace zones, or other commercial areas exposed to slippery conditions. Extensive maintenance is only usually required when the plate comes into contact with salt water or corrosive chemicals. Even in these conditions, only annual checks and general maintenance is needed which is relatively inexpensive.
